Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences (EkoUNIMED), Ijanikin, Lagos, on Friday, 31st July 2026, held a befitting send-forth ceremony in honour of its Pioneer Registrar, Barr. Abdul-Lateef Omotosho Animashaun, while formally ushering in a new era with the handing-over of administrative responsibilities to the newly appointed Registrar, Dr. Olanrewaju Morounkeji Fashola.

The colourful event, held at the Alhaja Atinuke Hajarat Ibraheem Memorial Hall, attracted the Founder & Proprietor EkoUNIMED – Chief (Dr.) Hammed Ayodele Ibraheem, members of the Governing Council, Principal Officers, Management, Members of Senate, Academic and Non-academic Staff, Students, family members, friends, and other distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the exceptional service and enduring legacy of the University’s pioneer administrative head.

Appointed as the Pioneer Registrar in June 2018, Barr. L.O. Animashaun played a Pivotal role in laying the Administrative foundation of EkoUNIMED during its formative years. Under his stewardship, the University witnessed remarkable growth and achieved several historic milestones, including the successful conduct of Matriculation Ceremonies, Professional Accreditation exercises, Maiden Induction Ceremony, Maiden Convocation, and numerous institutional developments that have strengthened the University’s reputation for excellence.

In separate goodwill messages and tributes, speakers described Barr. L.O. Animashaun as a visionary administrator, a man of integrity, an outstanding leader, and a mentor whose dedication, professionalism, wisdom, and commitment significantly contributed to the growth and stability of the University.

The Ceremony featured heartfelt tributes, goodwill messages, musical renditions, and the presentation of gifts, all reflecting the deep appreciation of the University community for his years of exemplary service.

The event concluded with prayers, group photographs, and warm expressions of goodwill as members of the University community celebrated the enduring legacy of Barr. Abdul-Lateef Omotosho Animashaun, while extending a warm welcome to Dr. Olanrewaju Morounkeji Fashola as she begins her tenure as Registrar and Secretary to Council.
