The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Lagos State recently hosted the Maiden Edition of the Inter-Collegiate Medical School Quiz Competition, as part of the 2025 NMA Lagos AGM/Scientific Conference. The event, which brought together brilliant medical students from across Lagos State, took place on Wednesday, 17th September 2025 at the MRC Auditorium, LASUTH, Ikeja.
The prestigious competition featured three (3) Leading Medical Schools in Lagos State:
- College of Medicine, University of Lagos (Idi-Araba)
- Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM)
- Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences (EkoUNIMED)
The quiz was an intellectually charged contest, testing the students’ knowledge in various aspects of medical science, clinical practice, and health policy. It was graced by distinguished personalities, including Prof. A.S. Akanmu, Chairman of the Occasion; Dr. Babajide Kehinde Saheed, Chairman, NMA Lagos State; Dr. Ewonowo Temidire, LOC Chairman; and Dr. Olusola Soyinka Jnr, LOC Secretary.
EkoUNIMED’s Impressive Performance
Representing the spirit of excellence, the EkoUNIMED team put up a remarkable performance and proudly clinched 2nd place in the competition. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it highlights the university’s growing reputation as a center of medical excellence, despite being the youngest of the participating institutions.
The team’s outstanding performance is a testament to the commitment of our students, the dedication of our faculty, and the vision of the University to raise a new generation of World-Class Medical Professionals.
